Q&A | FAQ About AKASO V50 Elite - My remote can’t connect to the camera.

Q: What App is recommended for this action camera?

A: AKASO DV / iSmart DV


2.

Q: How to connect the V50 Elite to my phone via Wi-Fi?

A: 1) Download AKASO DV App to your mobile device from the Apple App Store or Google

 Play.

2)Turn on the camera, in Video or Photo Mode press and hold the Wi-Fi button for three seconds

 to turn on Wi-Fi.

3) Turn on the Wi-Fi of your mobile device, connect to the Wi-Fi SSID ‘AKASO_V50Elite.

4) Enter the password: 1234567890.

5) Open the AKASO DV app

Notice: Please make sure your phone doesn’t connect to any other Wi-Fi. The camera Wi-Fi will compete with other Wi-Fi signals.

If not working, delete the Wi-Fi and reset the camera(Go to SETTINGS→Reset→Yes) and re-install the APP, then try again. Also please try to connect the camera to another phone.

All the steps above are not working, please send us your camera version number. Go to SETTINGS→Version.

Q: My remote can’t connect to the camera.

A: First of all please use a new battery(CR1632) for the remote and check if the light is on while pressing.

Here is the reference for how to control the remote of V50 Elite.

1) Turn on the camera.

2) Go to “Menu” → “Camera Setting” → “BT” → “ON”, then it will show up “BT on” → “Scanning”  on camera. (Pressing the “Down” button for 3s, also turns on the “BT”.)

3) Press the “Power” button of the remote for 3s to turn on. (The red light flashes)

4) It shows up “Connecting” → “Connected” shortly on camera. When the camera connects to the remote successfully, “the red light of the remote is always on”.

5) You could press “Photo” or “Video” mode on the remote.

6) Press the “Power” button of the remote for 3s to turn off. 

Note: When taking photos, the light of the remote flashes for every push. When recording videos, it keeps flashing.

Also, try to connect the remote to the camera without the waterproof case on.

If following the above steps, still doesn’t work, please send us your camera version number.

Q: How to adjust the volume?

A: Go to Settings→Sounds→Volume→3

Q: How to adjust recording sound?

A: Go to Video Setting→Sound Record→On (The recording sound can’t be changed, only can be turned on or off.)


6.电脑不识别相机?

Q: My PC can’t recognize the camera.

A: You can get it to work by plugging the USB cable into the docking station (Dell PRO2X) rather than plugging directly into the PC.

Q: When I record a video, it doesn’t run smoothly and sometimes it freezes; when I playback it’s frozen and shows “low card speed”.

A: 1) Did you format the card before use? Please format the card in the computer firstly and format in the camera again. Please try several times and reset the camera to try again.

2)Do you have another card to try?

Please avoid any card that doesn't advertise its WRITE speed anywhere. Sellers always advertise its “transfer read speed” instead of its “WRITE speed”.

For V50 Elite, you have to use the 64GB U3 card whose WRITE speed is up to 90mb/s.

Q: What functions can’t Image Stabilization be used with

A: V50 Elite’s Image Stabilization cannot be used with the functions below at the same time:

4K / 60FPS, 2.7K / 60FPS, 1080P / 120FPS, 720P / 240FPS, 

720P / 120FPS, 720P / 60FPS

Angle: Middle, Narrow

Zoom

Time Lapse Video

Date Stamp

Distortion Calibration

Q: Can I zoom when it’s in video mode?

A: Yes, you can. But when it’s in the video mode, the zoom function of V50 Elite can’t work with the “Image Stabilization”, “medium” and “narrow” angle.

Q: Does the V50 Elite have a webcam model?

A: Yes, there is a webcam model when you connect the V50 Elite to the PC.

Q: The battery gets hot, why?

A: Battery gets hot on higher resolutions. Try lower resolutions and see if that works.

Q: Is there a strap to put it on your head directly?

A: There is a head strap to put it on your head directly.

Q: Is the action camera view angle lens adjustable?

A: Yes, it is.

Q: What is the size of the red filter do I need for the waterproof case?

A: Size: 44 mm x 44 mm.

Q: Can I use it as a car dashcam? Does it have GPS tracking?

A: You can use it as a car dashcam. It does not have GPS tracking.

Q: What happens if I use a UHS 1 SD card on this camera?

A: It doesn’t work with a UHS 1 SD card on this camera.

Q: Is there a cable I can connect to my TV and camera to watch videos on TV?

A: You need to purchase a micro HDMI cable.

Q: Is the USB cable type C?

A: No, it’s not the type C.

Q: Can I go without a waterproof case?

A: You cannot. This underwater camera is only waterproof with a waterproof case. Please go diving with a waterproof case.

Q: How do I connect the remote?

A: CONNECTING YOUR V50 ELITE WITH REMOTE:

1. Turn on the camera. 

2. Press and hold the Down button for three seconds to turn on BT. The screen shows ‘BT ON’ - ‘Scanning’. 

Note: You can also go to Camera Setting to turn on BT. 

3. Press and hold the Power button to turn on the remote. The remote indicator flashes every second during connecting. 

4. The camera screen shows ‘Connected’. Remote indicator remains on after V50 Elite connects with remote successfully. 

Note: The photo indicator flashes when you take a photo. Video indicator flashes two seconds during video recording. 

PRO TIP: If you are recording a video, you must stop recording before issuing a new command.

Q: How do I use voice control?

A: Voice Control performance may be impacted by distance, wind, and noisy conditions. Keep the product clean and clear of debris. 

Voice Control works best when you say a command to the remote mic directly. 

1. Turn on the camera and remote. 

2. Connect the camera with the remote. 

3. Say a command to the remote mic from the list below. 

Note: Voice Control also turns off when your camera powers off. 

Command Description:

Action Start Video Starts capturing video 

Action Stop Shooting Stops capturing video 

Action Photo Captures a single photo 

Camera Turn Powers off the camera 

PRO TIP: If you are recording a video, you must stop recording before issuing a new command.

Q: Does it support an external microphone?

A: This action camera does not support an external microphone.
