Continued from the previous article: Preparation and items before cycling (Section Ⅰ)

Action camera in HD

One of the first things you should choose when buying an action camera is what resolution it should record in. You will eventually find almost no action cameras that do not record in minimum HD resolution.

Among other things, you can get an action camera with Wi-Fi and an N-Go app, which is an excellent example of how you can get an action camera with high resolution for quite a bit of money.

Action camera with 4K

If you like that little bit extra and think it's important not to go down on equipment, then an action camera with 4K might be more for you than an action camera with full HD.

As various mobile devices, TVs and computer screens get a better and better resolution, it also makes more and more sense to look in the direction of 4K when you need to record videos of you while cycling.

Waterproof action cameras

When there is to be speed across the field, it can be difficult to avoid such things as water, rain, and mud. Therefore, most action cameras are created in waterproof versions, where they are waterproof down to 30 meters.

With a waterproof action camera, you can more safely give that gas in, for example, a kayak or on skis down the slopes, without having to fear that your action camera will be damaged or that you will lose your footage.

The trend has gradually gone in the direction that virtually all action cameras today are waterproof, so from being a special feature, waterproofing has gradually become a standard in the latest action cameras.

Action camera accessories

Depending on where and how your action camera should sit, it will be a good idea to make sure you have the correct action camera accessories for the adventure.

You will find different types of mounting kits and mounting brackets, so you can have your action camera mounted on your helmet via a headband, or on your bike handlebars via a mounting bracket for bicycles. You will also find mounting brackets in the form of chest straps, which allow you to have your action camera mounted on your chest.

The opportunities do not just stop on land. For surfing,  you can also find surfboard mounting kits for your action camera so you can film while cutting through the waves. If you will use your action camera in water, it is a good idea to make sure you have a waterproof action camera.

An action cam isn't worth half as much without the right accessories. It is only really useful if you buy the right accessories together with the camera. It is often the seemingly unspectacular and inconspicuous accessories that are the most useful and important. Here are the main accessories:

· All accessories for attaching the action cam, such as mounts for vehicles, helmets, and driving and flying models

· Chest straps and the like for attaching the action cams

· Chargers and charging adapters for and spare batteries

· so-called gimbals for mechanical image stabilization for professional video recordings

· weatherproof housings and replacement housings for action cams

· Aqua handle to secure the camera in and underwater

· Memory cards, connection cables, and the like

Conclusion

The action cam has already replaced the classic camcorder in many areas. This includes, above all, the areas in which things get down to business, i.e. in which the cameras have to work perfectly under extreme conditions. This is also one of the reasons why action cams can hold their own against the ever-improving cameras in smartphones. The functions are getting better and better, the resolutions anyway. That is why an action cam is indispensable for all those who want to shoot unique videos and pictures under extreme conditions. There is something for everyone, from beginners to absolute professionals in video shooting under extreme conditions. Enough to deal intensively with this technique.
