I'm taking my EK7000 4K to Costa Rica in May 2021. Because CR has a wet climate, I need a certain amount of water protection. The waterproof case that comes with the camera certainly works in that regard but I also want to record the sounds of the rainforest around me. I can't do that with the waterproof case on. Since I am not recording under water but in a rainy climate, I don't think I need the camera to be completely waterproof. Would it be possible to create a water resistant case that allowed audio recording? This is what I need most right now.

What I did is drill a hole in the waterproof case on where the microphone is supposed to be. I don't need the complete waterproof either cause I won't take the camera into water.

Find where the microphone hole is in your camera and then drill a tiny hole. You can get the audio even with the case on.
