Impossible to convert this MOV footage to high qaulity MP4

26Been working for hours trying to decode footage from a V50 to equal quality MP4. Impossible. Transfers to laptop from camera as .MOV file, but is coded in a way that does not allow conversions, nor will any software like iMovie recognize it. Have found some software to do the transfer, but the quality is very poor.

See if Handbrake will work, or use VLC Media Player to 'convert' it and see if that works maybe.
Or use DaVinci Resolve which handles a LOT of different formats and it's free. It's possible that the.MOV format is an older version of Quicktime perhaps or a newer version and your copy of iMovie does not 'support' that particular version (old or new).
