Best Pocket Video Camera [Tiny & Handy]

01/28/2021

A small camera doesn't mean it is of low quality. Tiny cameras can offer quality picture as well as some larger models out there. The point is size has nothing to do with quality or performance.

The following cameras are specifically designed for those who prefer pocketable devices. Sometimes, it is better to carry a camcorder that fits in the pocket and doesn't feel it is in.

These are some of the best pocket video cams that deserve a look. Read on.

1. AKASO Keychain

AKASO Keychain Camera

The AKASO Keychain is an affordable oval pocket video camera that comes in white and black. The design of this device makes it perfect for vlogging. It weighs 1.2 ounces and measures 2.48 x 1.3 x 0.39 inches. It is the smallest 4K vlog wearable pocket camera with an acceptable video and photo quality that outclasses many of the latest smartphone versions.

The term 'keychain' refers to its diminutive thumb size. In spite of that, it is powerfully equipped with 9 features that allow taking pictures and filming in different modes.

This pocket video camera has slow-motion and takes photos at 20MP. Besides being so small, it offers hands-free operation. The 5.0 GHz connection capacity can connect it to your phone via Wi-Fi, even in places with poor connectivity. Additionally, it features loop recording and a magnetic body that makes it more practical.

AKASO Keychain package includes a carry-on camera case and a pivot and mount base. Are you going to the mountains and want to capture special moments? You can wear it like a necklace. Are you going to play basketball and want to capture the game? You can clip the cam on your headband. The pocket camera can be easily mounted everywhere.

2. AKASO V50x

AKASO V50x Pocket Camera

AKASO V50x is another tiny and handy cam model that surprises with its size and impressive recording performance. It is not as small as a thumb but it can fit in your pocket easily. AKASO V50x measures 2.36 x 1.57 x 1.18 inches and weighs 1.12 pounds, which in theory, is nothing in the pocket. This pocket video camera provides good image stability and an adjustable angle to record and takes photos from different positions.

Added to the Wi-Fi and time-lapse feature, it films at 4K Ultra HD and uses filters for photo and video editing. The cam works for almost two hours when using the maximum resolution. AKASO V50x should not be used in places with temperatures below -5 degrees.

This pocket camera has the typical rectangular shape of most cameras and comes with a mounting base for creative videos. Also, if the video is taken in shakiness, it calibrates it and delivers it corrected. Its accessories can fit GoPro models.

It features Featuring 4K/30fps, 2.7K 30fps, and 2K 60fps video resolution and is waterproof. AKASO v50x works underwater, thanks to its waterproof housing up to 40 meters. The storage of this device can hold up to 64 GB with an extra card.

3. Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camera

Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camera

This pocketable video camera is even larger than the two previous versions, but it is equally as tiny as to fit in any pocket or bag. Kodak Zi6 is 2.5 x 4.5 x 0.9 (64x114x23.5mm) and only weighs 3.8 ounces.

The camera is like a phone. It has a 2.4 inch LCD screen and includes neither dials nor lens cap. Despite this, it is not incomplete. The Zi6 offers 300 Mb storage, a 2.8 GHz processor, and a storage capacity that is expandable to 32 GB.

It comes with a series of features that enable you to edit flicks and share them on social media. In fact, it is described as a cinematic pocket camcorder perfect for vloggers and adventures. However, it falls short in the zoom facility of only 2x.

The Zi6 features HD 720p at 30 fps video quality and a 4 GB memory card for practical use. It contains unique batteries that are pre-charged and rechargeable.

4. Sony CX405 Handycam - Pocket Camcorder

Sony CX405 Handycam

This tiny but particularly lengthened camcorder is also one of the best pocket camcorders, built in a style that equals the image quality it provides. The SONY cx405 is what its name suggests, a Handycam that is is approximately 54.0 mm (W) × 59.5 mm (H) × 128.0 mm and weighs 6.7 oz. It is black and has grey finishes.

The wide angle it offers is outstanding, considering that it films objects with an angle as wide as 26.8mm2. This Sony pocket camcorder also facilitates data-sharing, delivering images in XAVCs image format, and compressing for easy export. Sony CX405 has nothing to envy from professional cameras because it is built for delivering a professional image.

However, the Sony CX405 Handycam stands out for other three features: the BIONZ XTM image process that makes pictures look vivid, the Exmor R™ CMOS sensor, which helps record in the dark, and the dual record mode that films and takes shots at a time while it doesn't compromise quality.

This cam has no Wi-Fi and the editing features that are in other contenders are missing. So, you can only take photos and export them without editing.

5. Sony Bloggie Camera

Sony Bloggie Camera

The Sony Bloggie Camera is a sleek-designed pocket camera you can hold vertically or horizontally to take shots and film, just like other Bloggies. It runs for 4 hours and has a dual record feature, too. This pocket camera measures 4.25 x 2.12 x 0.6 inches and weighs 4.4 ounces, and features a 4x Digital zoom that captures image scarcely four inches away.

The Sony Bloggie was released in 2010 but continues to be in use because it is easy and takes up no space. The device is suitable for vlogging and uploading videos directly to YouTube and Facebook. Photos and videos are delivered in 12 megapixels and 1080p HD. The 8GB storage capacity saves long videos without difficulty.

The gimmick doesn't include a tripod but it has a port for it. With a tripod, you can move the pocket camera to any angle, as its wide-angle lens captures more of landscapes and indoor scenes.

Unfortunately, this pocket camera is not compatible with new operating systems like Windows 8, 10, and the latest iOS versions.
